OPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
While marks secured in the Preliminary Examination are not included in the final merit list, they are critical for shortlisting candidates for the Mains exam. Scoring well above the cutoff is essential to secure your place in the next phase.
- Odisha Civil Service Prelims Exam consists of 2 General Studies papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates have to appear for both papers.
- A minimum of 33% marks is required to qualify for GS Paper 2, and for GS Paper 1, the qualifying marks will be decided by the commission.
- There shall be 200 questions (Objective type) in each paper, and the duration for each Paper is 2 hours (120 minutes).
- For each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded, and each wrong answer results in a ⅓rd mark (0.33) deduction.
