OPSC OCS 2026 Eligibility

Candidates must ensure they meet all specified eligibility standards for Group A and Group B posts before applying. Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in the immediate rejection of the application and disqualification from the selection process.

Education Qualification

Applicants are required to hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Additionally, proficiency in the Odia language (reading, writing, and speaking) is a mandatory requirement for all candidates.

• Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language or a subject;
• Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject;
• Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of class 8th in school or an educational institute

Age Limit (as on 1/01/2025)

The age limit for candidates is 21 to 38 years as of January 1, 2025. Applicants must have been born between January 2, 1983, and January 1, 2004. Government-mandated age relaxations apply to reserved categories.

OPSC OCS 2026 Application Fee

An examination fee of Rs. 500/- is mandatory to complete the application process. Payments must be made online using secure methods, including net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI.

3. First candidates are required to register themselves by providing a valid Email ID and Mobile Number for registration and creating login credentials.
4. Log in with these login credentials and fill out their complete information by clicking on the Profile Creation Link.
5. Upload their images of recent photographs, signatures, and left thumb impressions as per the prescribed format.
6. Candidates must ensure the information and details in the application forms are correct before clicking on the final submission button.

OPSC OCS 2026 Selection Process

The OPSC OCS 2026 recruitment comprises three rigorous stages: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the final Personality Test/Interview.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination: This is a qualifying screening test. Marks secured in the Prelims do not contribute to the final merit list.

Stage 2 – Mains Examination: Only candidates who successfully qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be shortlisted for the Mains.

Stage 3 – Personality Test/Interview: Successful candidates from the Mains will be invited for a final personal interview.

Stage 4 – Final Merit List: Final selection is determined based on the cumulative scores achieved in the Mains Examination and the Interview.

Number of Attempts

General category candidates are permitted 6 attempts at the Civil Services Examination, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.

Provided that:

(i) There are no limits on the number of attempts for SC and ST candidates.

(ii) Candidates from Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) are allowed 9 attempts, provided they are eligible for reservation benefits.

OPSC OCS Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

• The Preliminary Examination will consist of 02 papers of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• Each paper consists of 200 marks.
• The exam will be divided into 2 papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) of 2 hours each.
• Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and candidates are required to score above 33% to qualify for the main exam.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

OPSC OCS Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive competitive monthly salaries along with various allowances. Group A positions start at Rs. 56,100/-, while Group B positions offer a salary of Rs. 44,900/-, as per the ORSP Rules, 2027.
