SSC MTS 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for the SSC MTS 2026 Exam is based on three core criteria. Before applying, candidates should review the SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria regarding nationality, educational qualifications, and age limits. Let’s review these requirements:

Nationality/Citizenship

Candidates must strictly adhere to the following eligibility parameters:

  1. A citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan Refugee
  5. Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limits for SSC MTS and Havaldar positions, as defined by departmental recruitment rules, are as follows:

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)- Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age.

Havaldar Age Limit- Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age.

Beyond the standard age requirements, reserved category candidates are entitled to age relaxation as per established Government of India policies.

Educational Qualification 

Educational qualification required for the SSC MTS 2026 Exam is a successful pass in the Matriculation (10th grade) or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution. There is no minimum percentage requirement in the 10th-grade exam.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for the SSC MTS 2026 examination is Rs. 100/-. Payments must be processed through authorized online channels, including Net Banking, Credit/Debit cards, or BHIM UPI.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD, and Ex-servicemen categories are exempt from application fees. Additionally, all female candidates are also exempt from paying the application fee.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2026 Selection Process

Selection for the SSC Multi-Tasking Staff role involves three distinct stages. Candidates must secure marks above the qualifying cut-off at each stage to progress. The recruitment stages are as follows: 

Stage 1 – Paper-1 (Computer-Based Examination)

Stage 2 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) (required only for the Havaldar post)

SSC MTS 2026 Exam Pattern

The SSC MTS 2026 process consists of two levels: the Paper-1 exam and, for Havaldar applicants, the PET/PST. Paper 1 is an objective-type, computer-based exam. 

SSC MTS Havaldar Paper-1 Exam Pattern 

The revised SSC MTS Paper 1 structure features two mandatory sessions. Session I and Session II must both be attempted. Please note that there is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect response in Session II, whereas Session I does not carry negative marking.

SSC MTS 2026 Cut-Off
