Selection Criteria & Merit Calculation
There is no separate written test for India Post GDS recruitment. Selections are determined strictly by merit based on Class 10 (Secondary School) examination marks calculated to four decimal places. Grade points are converted using the formula: Marks = Grade Point x 9.5.
In case of a tie in marks, the following tie-breaking criteria are applied sequentially:
- Older candidate (higher date of birth / born earlier)
- Category reservation rules (ST Female → SC Female → OBC Female → EWS Female → UR Female, then ST Male → SC Male → OBC Male → EWS Male → UR Male)
