The multi-stage recruitment framework is detailed below:

Preliminary Examination Pattern & Syllabus

The Preliminary Examination acts as a screening test carrying 200 marks in total. It features 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering General Knowledge & General Science within a 3-hour duration. Note that Prelims marks do not count toward the final merit list.

Approximately 15 times the total number of vacancies are admitted to the Mains exam. The descriptive/analytical paper structure totals 800 marks across four papers:
