RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Structure and Marking Scheme

The preliminary examination evaluates candidates across four core disciplines. Each test has specific sectional timings, weightage, and negative marking rules. Below is the breakdown of the exam layout:

RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam Rules

  • Total marks allotted for all sections are 200, and total time allotted is 120 minutes.
  • Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate.
  • There will be a negative marking of 1/4 mark for each incorrect answer.

Section-Wise Difficulty Level & Good Attempts

Overall, the examination (1st shift) was observed to be moderate. For General category candidates, a range of 112-113 questions (or 112-123 total good attempts estimate) is considered a strong number of attempts. Candidates from other categories may adjust the good attempts estimate by 5-6 questions based on specific category cut-off trends.
