Odia Language Proficiency Criteria

Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following baseline linguistic requirements:

  • Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject.
  • Passed HSC or equivalent with Odia as the medium of instruction in non-language subjects.
  • Passed Odia as a language subject in Class VII or above from a recognized school.
  • Passed a test in Odia (Middle English School standard) conducted by the School and Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

The selection roadmap comprises three distinct stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Carries 150 marks. It screens candidates equivalent to six times the total number of vacancies for the subsequent Main Written Examination.
  2. Main Written Examination: Carries 200 marks, conducted in an OMR-based offline mode or Computer-Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE). Negative marking appliesβ€”1/4th of marks are deducted for 4-option questions, and 1/3rd of marks are deducted for 3-option questions.
  3. Certificate Verification (CV): Invites shortlisted candidates amounting to twice the number of vacancies per post/category.
