The selection procedure for Administrative Officers is structured to evaluate candidates across multiple stages of competence. The OICL AO selection process comprises three online stages:

• Prelims
• Mains
• Interview

Stage 1: Prelims Exam Rules and Structure

The preliminary examination serves as the first screening tier. It has a duration of 60 minutes with 100 questions and 100 total marks. Each correct answer in the Prelims gives 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are subtracted for each incorrect answer.

• There are three sections in the Preliminary Examination: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English.
• Each section has its own sectional timing, which is 20 minutes.
• Each correct answer gives 1 mark.
• For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be subtracted.
