Agniveers receive an attractive, customized monthly package supplemented by Risk and Hardship allowances across the three services. The annual salary for an Agniveer starts at approximately Rs. 4.76 lakh in the first year, increasing to Rs. 6.92 lakh by the final year.

Seva Nidhi Package

Upon completing their 4-year service tenure, Agniveers are entitled to a one-time 'Seva Nidhi' package of approximately Rs 11.71 Lakh. The 'Seva Nidhi' package includes personal contributions, matching Government contribution, and accrued interest, with no income tax deducted.

Allowances and Additional Benefits

In addition to regular monthly payments, personnel receive several benefits and allowances:

  • Candidate will be covered under Rs. 48 Lakh non-contributory Life Insurance Cover during service.
  • Rs. 11.71 Lakh as Seva Nidhi package after exit from service (no income tax deducted).
  • 25% of Agniveers will be enrolled in regular cadre of service.
  • Risk and Hardship Allowance, Ration, Dress and Travel allowances as applicable

Compensation for Death and Disability

Category Entitlements of Agniveers
Death during engagement period on Bonafide duty (Category ā€˜Y’/’Z’) (i) Insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs.
(ii) One-time ex-gratia payment of Rs 44 Lakhs.
(iii) Full pay for the unserved portion of the four-year term (effective from the date of death), including the Seva Nidhi component.
(iv) The total balance accumulated in the individual's Seva Nidhi fund, including Government contributions and interest from the Agniveer Corpus Fund.
Death during engagement period not on duty (Category ā€˜X’) (i) Insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs.
(ii) The total balance accumulated in the individual's Seva Nidhi fund, including Government contributions and interest from the Agniveer Corpus Fund.
Disability (attributed /aggravated due to conditions of engagement) (i) One-time ex-gratia payment of Rs 44, 25, or 15 Lakhs, based on the percentage of disability (100%, 75%, or 50% respectively) from public funds.
(ii) Full pay for the unserved period of up to four years (effective from the date of disability), including the Seva Nidhi component from public funds.
(iii) The total balance accumulated in the individual's Seva Nidhi fund, including interest and Government contributions from the Agniveer Corpus Fund.
