WBSSC SLST 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Aspiring candidates for Secondary (Classes IX & X) and Higher Secondary (Classes XI & XII) teaching roles must verify their eligibility, including mandatory educational qualifications and age limits.

Education Qualification

Eligibility for Assistant Teachers (Classes IX & X)

a) Graduation or Post Graduation from a recognized University with at least 50% marks, plus a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from an NCTE-recognized institution, OR
(b) A 4-year degree in B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution.

Eligibility for Assistant Teachers (Classes XI & XII)

(a) Post-graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognized University and a B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution; OR
(b) Post-graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

The required age for candidates applying for WBSSC SLST 2025 is between 21 and 40 years, calculated as of 1st January 2025.

Upper age limit Relaxation

• Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates- 5 years
• Other Backwards Classes candidates- 3 years
• Physically Handicapped Candidates- 8 years
