NDA Exam Pattern 2026

  • The NDA written examination is divided into two papers, namely Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).
  • The exam will be held in offline mode and consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • The mathematics paper consists of 120 questions for 300 marks, and the General Ability Test (GAT) paper will have English and GK Papers of 200 & 400 marks, respectively.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.83 marks for Maths and 1.33 marks for GK.
  • The time duration for each paper is 2.5 hours.

UPSC NDA 1 Selection Process 2026

The UPSC NDA 1 selection process consists of two primary stages:

  • Written Exam – UPSC conducts the written exam for all those candidates who have been sucessfully registered for the exam. The written exam tests the knowledge and aptitude of candidates
  • Intelligence and Personality Test (SSB) – Those who clear the written exam are called for the SSB Interview. Candidates who clear both stages will be required to submit the Original Certificates along with one photocopy each of the original 10th certificate and 12th certificate.
