UP PCS Vacancy 2026

UPPSC 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services posts, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification by the application deadline. Specific educational requirements for various posts are outlined below:

4Law Officer

Candidates applying for the Law Officer post must meet the following specialized requirements:

(i) A Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a university established by law in India.

(ii) Valid registration with a Bar Council or a Bar Association recognized by the Bar Council of India, supported by a two-year practice experience certificate issued by the respective Bar Council/Association.

5Technical Assistant (Geology)

Essential Qualifications for specialized roles:

(I) A Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Geology or Applied Geology, or a Diploma in Applied Geology from the Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad.

(ii) Preferential: Research experience or field training provided by the Geological Survey of India.

6Technical Assistant (Geophysics)Post graduate degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology or applied Geology (with physics, Mathematics at the B.Sc. level) from a university established by law in India.
7Tax Assessment OfficerGraduation Degree in Commerce or Economics with 55% marks from a university recognized by Law in India.

The UPPSC PCS 2026 selection process follows an offline format consisting of three primary stages:

The UPPSC PCS exam is a structured three-tier process requiring candidates to qualify in the Preliminary exam before proceeding to the Mains and the final Personality Test.

  • The Prelims exam of UPPSC PCS 2026 is an offline mode of examination, with 2 papers in different shifts
  • The total marks allotted for each paper is 200, and the total time allotted for the completion of each Paper of the Prelims exam is 2 hours

UPPCS 2026 Salary/Pay Scale

The pay scale for positions under the Combined State Services ranges from Rs. 9,300–34,800 (Grade Pay Rs. 4,600, with the exception of Naib Tehsildar at Rs. 4,200) to Rs. 15,600–39,100 (Grade Pay Rs. 5,400).
