Selection will be determined by an online examination followed by a regional language proficiency test. Qualification in the language test is mandatory to be eligible for final selection. The final merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise, based on performance in the online exam.
- Stage 1: Online Examination- The United India Insurance Company (UIIC) will conduct the Online examination to shortlist candidates for the next stage of the selection process. Candidates qualifying in the Examination will be called for the Regional Language test.
- Stage 2: Regional Language Test- Qualified candidates in the online examination will be invited to appear for the Regional Language test. Candidates who fall within the number of vacancies in the Merit List shall be considered for provisional selection subject to Medical Fitness. The candidates will be selected based on their performance in the online exam, subject to qualifying for the regional language test.

The UIIC Assistant Exam 2026 will be conducted online, carrying a total of 250 marks.
- Now there will be one online examination in which 200 questions will be asked for 250 marks.
- The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes (2 hours).
