Steps for SSC CGL 2026 Apply Online

All SSC CGL applications must be submitted online exclusively through the official SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) or the official mySSC mobile application available on the Google Play Store.

Part 1. Register as a New User (One-Time Registration)

If you are applying for an SSC exam for the first time, click the "New User? Register Now" link on the homepage. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) by providing your personal and contact details.

Part 2. SSC CGL Online Form Filling

  1. Return to the SSC website and log in using your Registration ID and Password. If already registered, use your existing credentials to log in.
  2. Now click on “Apply” appearing on the right side of the homepage. After that, click on “Apply” in front of Combined Graduate Level Examination,2026.
  3. A new page with url- https://ssc.gov.in/login appears on the screen. Candidates are required to log in with the provided Registration ID, date of birth and password to complete registration for SSC CGL 2026.
  4. Click on submit button to submit your online application form for SSC CGL. It is advised that candidates verify their details before submitting the form. All the candidates will be issued a Registration ID for SSC CGL 2026 exam.

Part 3. Upload Documents

In the subsequent step, candidates must upload their photograph and signature following the strict guidelines set by the Staff Selection Commission.

Photograph Specification: The candidate's photograph must be captured against a white or light-colored background. You are required to use the live photo capture feature as per the official instructions.

Signature Specification: Your signature must be written in black or blue ink on white paper. The scanned image must be in JPG format, sized between 1 KB and 12 KB, with a resolution of 40x60 pixels.

Other Required Documents: Keep your Photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.), Caste/Category Certificate, PwBD Medical Certificate, and Ex-Servicemen Discharge documents ready if applicable.

NEW UPDATE: Candidates no longer need to upload pre-existing photographs. You must now capture a live photo directly through the application portal camera by following the on-screen instructions.

Part 4. Fee Submission 

  1. Now the candidates are required to the application fee.
  2. The fee is to be paid through online mode (Debit/Credit/Net Banking/Wallet, etc.).

  3. Evidence for claims made by the candidate while applying online should be uploaded by the candidate at the time of registration itself. The same will be verified subsequently at the time of the Certificate Verification and Interview process
  4. Candidates must fill out the complete form before the last date of online mode.
  5. Save the Application and Acknowledgement documents for future reference.
  6. Candidates should indicate their order of preferences at this stage. No requests for change in this connection shall be entertained.

SSC CGL Application Form Correction 2026

The SSC correction window will be open from 29th June to 1st July 2026 to rectify any application errors. A correction fee of Rs. 200 applies for the first modification and Rs. 500 for the second.
