PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026: Key Dates and Postponement Details

The PSSSB Clerk Notification (Advt. No. 02 of 2026) was initially released on February 14th, 2026, opening the application window. The online registration period commenced on the same day and concluded on March 13th, 2026, with the application fee payment deadline also set for March 13th, 2026. It's important to note that applicants who had previously applied for Clerk or Clerk IT roles under Advertisement No. 11/2025 were required to withdraw those applications and submit a fresh one under Advertisement No. 02/2026 by the March 13th deadline. The PSSSB Clerk Admit Cards are traditionally released approximately 3 days prior to the examination date.

Eligibility Criteria for PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026

To be eligible for the PSSSB Clerk position, candidates must meet specific age and educational requirements.

Age Limit:

The minimum age requirement for all categories is 18 years, while the upper age limit is 37 years as of January 1st, 2026. Age relaxations are applicable for certain categories:

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Additionally, they need to have completed a minimum 120-hour computer course with proficiency in Office Productivity and Desktop Publishing Applications from a Government-recognized or ISO 9001 certified institution, or hold an 'O' Level Computer Course certificate from DOEACC. A crucial requirement is having passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or passing a Punjabi language qualifying test (Matric level) with at least 50% marks.

Steps To Apply For PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026

Follow these steps to complete your PSSSB Clerk application:

  1. Visit the official website of the Punjab Government, Subordinate Service Selection Board (PSSSB) at www.sssb.punjab.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, navigate to 'Recruitment', then 'Group C', select 'Advertisement No.02 of 2026', and finally click on 'Apply Online'.
  3. Click on the 'Register Here' link.
  4. Enter your name, email ID, mobile number, and create a secure password (at least 9 characters, including one special character, one number, one lowercase, and one uppercase letter, e.g., ADmin@357). Your unique One-Time Registration Number (OTR) will then be generated.
  5. Log in using your OTR details.
  6. Upload your recent passport-sized photograph and your signature.
  7. Fill in your personal details, including your name, parent's name, gender, category, and home district, along with your high school qualification.
  8. Submit all your personal, contact, and educational details accurately in the online application form.
  9. Proceed to pay the prescribed application fee.
  10. Carefully verify all the details entered in the application form before clicking the 'Final Submit' button.

PSSSB Clerk Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the PSSSB Clerk position involves three distinct stages:

Written Examination Pattern:

The written exam consists of two parts. Part A is a qualifying paper in Punjabi language, requiring a minimum of 50% marks. The total duration for the Clerk Exam is 2 hours (120 minutes).
