PSSSB Patwari Selection Process 2026

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board determines candidate eligibility based on performance in the written examination. A common merit list will be generated, and specific tie-breaking criteria will be applied in the event that multiple candidates achieve identical scores.

• If candidates have equal marks, their date of birth will be considered
• The older candidate will have higher merit if their ages are the same
• The candidate with higher educational qualification marks will be given priority.
• If there is still a tie, the candidate with higher marks in 10th will be ranked higher.
• Candidates passing the MCQ exam will be called for counseling to verify their documents.

PSSSB Patwari Exam Pattern 2026 Overview

The Punjab Patwari Exam 2026 consists of an objective-type written test covering various core topics. The examination is structured into two main parts, with a total duration of 150 minutes.

• Part A: Punjabi Language which is qualifying in nature consists of 50 questions, one mark each with no negative marking.
• Part B: Candidates must score a minimum of 50% or 25 marks in Part A, to get evaluated in Part B, In this part candidates will complete the 100 questions with one mark each and there will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark. Part B includes subjects like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability, Punjabi, Punjab History and Culture, ICT.

Punjab Patwari Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be placed under the Pay Matrix Scale Level-2 of the 7th CPC, with an initial monthly salary of Rs. 19,900. During the training phase, including one year at the Patwar School and six months of field training, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000 as per state government policy.
