In response to an RTI query, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has confirmed that 48,83,309 applications have been submitted for the SSC GD 2026 Exam. Candidates are vying for 25,487 positions across central armed police forces and various ministries. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is scheduled to commence on April 27, 2026, and will be conducted over several days in multiple shifts. This recruitment drive offers a significant opportunity for 10th-pass students to join forces such as the BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and the Narcotics Control Bureau.

Over 48.83 Candidates to Appear for SSC GD Exam

With the official exam calendar released, the countdown for the SSC GD 2026 exam has begun. Due to the high volume of over 48 lakh applicants, the Commission will conduct the Computer-Based Test (CBT) in multiple shifts between April 27, 2026, and May 30, 2026. Successful candidates from this phase will proceed to the physical efficiency and measurement rounds.

Vacancy Breakdown: The total includes 24,208 posts for male constables and 1,279 for female constables, inclusive of backlog vacancies.

Negative Marking: A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.
