NLC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Graduate Apprentice Requirements

• Full time Degree in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline from:

1. A Statutory University, or
2. An Institution authorized by an Act of Parliament, or
3. A recognized Professional Body approved by the State/Central Government.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice Requirements

• Full time Diploma in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline from a State Council/Board of Technical Education, or a University, or an Institution recognized by the State/Central Government.

Candidates must be residents of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, or Puducherry. Eligibility is restricted to those who passed their degree or diploma between 2021 and 2025.
Age Limit: As per current Apprenticeship Act rules.

NLC Apprentice Selection Process 2026

Selection for the Graduate and Technician Apprentice roles will be conducted purely based on the aggregate marks obtained in the candidate's Degree or Diploma examinations.

Method of Mark Calculation:

• If the university/institute follows a specific method, that method will be used.
• If Grades / CGPA are given instead of marks:
• The university’s own conversion method will be followed.
• If no conversion method is given by the university:
• CGPA/Grade × 10 = Percentage

Marks are calculated based on the average performance from the 2nd year through to the final year of the degree or diploma. Academic merit is the sole criterion for the final selection process.

NLC Graduate and Technician Apprentices Salary 2026

Selected apprentices will receive a competitive monthly stipend throughout their training. Graduate Apprentices are entitled to Rs. 15,028 per month, while Technician Apprentices will receive Rs. 12,524 per month.
