LIC Assistant Engineer Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

  • Preliminary Examination consisting of an objective test will be conducted online.
  • The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section).
  • There will be a negative marking, i.e., for every wrong answer, 1/4th of the mark assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at the correct score.
  • If a question is left blank, i.e., no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
  • There will be a total of 100 questions.
  • The exam is worth 70 marks, as the English Language section is qualifying and its marks are not included in the ranking.
