KVS TGT Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the KVS TGT Exam on January 11, 2026, to fill 2,794 vacancies. KVS TGT Selection Process 2026

Starting this year, the KVS TGT selection process consists of a two-tier examination followed by a personal interview. The Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature, while Tier 2 features a blend of objective and descriptive questions. Final selection is based on a weighted merit system: 85% from Tier 2 performance and 15% from the interview.

KVS TGT Exam Pattern 2026 for Tier 1

• Candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the written examination, or we can say the exam duration is 2 hours.
• The Tier 1 exam will be held for a total of 300 marks, consisting of 100 objective-type questions.
• There is negative marking; 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. 
• The exam will be bilingual (English/Hindi).

KVS TGT Exam Pattern 2026 for Tier 2

• In the KVS Tier 2 Exam, questions will be asked from the subjects for which candidates have applied.
• The exam will be held in pen-and-paper (Descriptive) and OMR-Based mode.
• In OMR-based objective-type questions, 1 mark will be given for each correct answer, and there is negative marking. 1/4 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• The time duration of the exam is 2½ hours without any time limit for each part of the test individually.

Interview

Candidates who qualify for the Tier 2 exam will proceed to a 100-mark interview. The expert panel will evaluate candidates on their pedagogical skills, classroom management, ability to address student needs, and adherence to professional teaching ethics.
