Recruitment for the post of Naib Tehsildar in the Revenue Department involves a two-stage selection process: a Written Examination followed by a Descriptive Test. JKSSB Naib Tehsildar Exam Pattern 2026

The examination consists of two papers. Paper-I features multiple-choice objective-type questions, while Paper-II serves as a qualifying descriptive test focused on the Urdu language.

Written Exam

• There will be 120 questions asked from English, GK with Jammu and Kashmir, Information Technology, Maths and Reasoning
• Each Question carries 1 mark
• 0.25 marks will be subtracted for each incorrect answer
• Candidates must complete the exam in 2 hours

Descriptive Test:

Shortlisted candidates will appear for the qualifying Descriptive Test, which evaluates reading and writing proficiency. The reading section is worth 20 marks, while the writing section contributes 30 marks.
Reading Section: Candidates must complete 20 comprehension questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.

Paper-I Syllabus Breakdown:

• Candidates under Open Merit (OM) must score at least 20% marks.
• Candidates from other categories must score at least 15% marks to qualify for Paper-II.

Paper-II Syllabus Breakdown:

• OM candidates must score at least 40% marks.
• Other category candidates must score at least 35%, with at least 33% marks in both the Reading and Writing sections.
