HPSC ADO Exam Pattern 2026
The HPSC ADO selection process consists of three distinct stages: a Screening Test, a Subject-Specific Knowledge Test, and a final Interview. Please note that the final merit list is determined by the combined performance in the Subject Knowledge Test and the Interview.
Screening Test
- There will be 100 objective questions (MCQs) for 100 marks
- Each Question carries 1 mark.
- Each question has 5 options.
- 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- 0.25 mark will also be subtracted if the question is left blank without choosing the 5th option.
- If a candidate leaves more than 10% of questions blank without marking the 5th option, they will be disqualified.
- Candidates who score at least 25% will be shortlisted for the next stage.

Subject Knowledge Test & Interview
The Subject Knowledge Test comprises subjective-type questions totaling 150 marks, with a designated examination duration of 3 hours.
- Candidates have to score at least 35% to qualify for the interview
- 2 times the number of vacancies (plus any tied candidates) will be called for the interview
- The Subject Knowledge Test carries 87.5% weightage, and the interview carries 12.5% weightage in the final result
