Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

To register successfully, candidates should review the Detailed CTET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Learn More. There is no upper age limit, provided the applicant is at least 18 years old and holds the mandatory educational credentials.

Educational Qualification for Classes 1-5 (Paper I)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or final year of 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or final year of 2-year D.El.Ed., as per NCTE Regulations 2002.
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or final year of 2-year D.Ed.
  • Bachelor’s degree and passed or final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).

Educational Qualification for Classes 6-8 (Paper II)

  • Graduate degree and passed or appearing in the final year examination of a 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • Graduation degree with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year examination of B.Ed.
  • Graduation degree with 40% marks and passed or appearing in the final year examination of B.Ed., as per NCTE regulations.
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year examination of a 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year examination of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduate degree with 50% marks and passed or appearing for a 1-year B.Ed program.
