Educational Qualifications & Checklists

Candidates must meet specific academic criteria depending on the teaching level they are applying for:

Educational Qualification For Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5)

• Candidates have at least 50% marks in their 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent exam.
• Candidates must have a valid CRR number issued by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• Candidates must have completed D.El.Ed. in Special Education from an institution recognized by the RCI OR
• Must have a Diploma in Special Education or an equivalent qualification from an RCI-recognized institute, along with a valid CRR number OR
• Must have completed six months of special training in cross-disability OR
• Must have qualified for BSSTET Paper I under the Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023.

Educational Qualification For Upper- Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8)

• Must have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
• Must have a valid CRR number issued by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• Must have a B.Ed. in Special Education from an institution recognized by the RCI OR
• Must have a Certificate or Diploma in Special Education along with B.Ed., which is treated as equal to a B.Ed. in Special Education by the RCI, and have a valid CRR number OR
• Must have completed six months of special training in the field of cross-disability OR
• Must have passed BSSTET Paper I under the Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age Relaxation Guidelines

• BSSTET 2023 qualified candidates get 10-year relaxation in the maximum age
• 5 years of relaxation to the Panchayat Government Gram Kachhari employed teachers
• 10 years of relaxation to Divyang candidates
• Retired teachers are allowed to apply (certificate mandatory)
• Maximum retirement age: 60 years
