The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the cancellation of the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) recruitment drive under Advertisement No. 87/2025. Originally conducted between 14th and 21st April 2026, the examination faced severe setbacks due to widespread reports of organized malpractice, administrative irregularities, and coordinated cheating attempts across multiple test centers.

In addition to the AEDO examination, the written examination for the Assistant Public Cleanliness and Waste Management Officer post (Advertisement No. 108/2025), which took place on 23rd April 2026, has also been completely scrapped to preserve the integrity of the recruitment processes managed by the commission.

Reasons for BPSC AEDO Exam Cancellation

The decision to scrap the examination was taken after rigorous investigations revealed deep-rooted conspiracies designed to undermine fair testing procedures. Key factors contributing to the cancellation include:

  • Cheating attempts using Bluetooth were found at several centres across Bihar.
  • 32 candidates were caught trying to cheat or conspiring to disrupt the exam.
  • Misleading news about the exam was being spread on social media and in newspapers, which further affected the integrity of the examination.
  • The overall fairness and transparency of the exam was considered compromised.

District authorities acted swiftly to combat these irregularities by initiating legal proceedings, including filing First Information Reports (FIRs) against implicated candidates and external conspirators. Furthermore, 32 candidates have been strictly debarred from participating in all future BPSC examinations due to their involvement.
