Assam Police SI Selection Process 2026

The comprehensive selection process for the Assam Police Sub-Inspector position comprises several rigorous stages designed to test both intellect and physical endurance.

Written Exam: The written test will be 100 marks and conducted in OMR format.
Physical Standard Test (PST) & Preliminary Medical Checkup: PST checks height, weight, chest (for males) and medical Officer will check for knocked knee, vision, etc.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The PET will be conducted for 40 Marks.
Oral/Viva-Voce: The oral/viva voce will be conducted for 5 Marks

Assam Police SI Exam Pattern 2026

The Assam Police SI Exam consists of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.
The exam will be conducted as an OMR-based written test.
For each correct answer, there is a marking scheme of 1 mark, and for each incorrect answer, 0.5 mark will be deducted.
The duration of the Assam Police SI Exam is 3 hours and there is no sectional timing for the exam.

Candidates who qualify for the written exam are invited to the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) based on their merit ranking. Shortlisting for this stage is limited to five times the total number of advertised vacancies per category.
